Surprised and Pleased Mary A. This is the best book she's written in her Civil War series. She presented the Booth family's story fairly, with none of the emotional content she has inserted in some previous books. Some of the information was startling as well as welcome, such as the knowledge that the Booth family were British and abolitionists. JW's descent into sympathy for the South was skillfully done. In the afterward, however, I wish she would have addressed what happened to Booths body, what became of Rosalie and was John Surratt even. Loki said Five Stars. Very interesting historical novel about John Wilkes Booth and how his actions effected the important women in his life..
