I have never had a group of students clap upon finishing a book. I know some of them will pick it up and read it to themselves, or even suggest the book to others, maybe even their parents. Having been a special education teacher for almost 20 years, I real. Great read for teachers and parents I love that this book is from the point of View of the student with a learning difference. So many kids fall for the cracks and don't get the help they need. This character know she isn't like the other kids but doesn't know why, or how to get the help she needs. She hides her disability with other behaviors to throw people off. All that changed when her learning difference was finally discovered by caring teacher. It just shows how one caring adult can change the life of a child..
