I own numerous Bible versions, including New King James, NIV, Arabic, Jewish, Chronological and Amplified ones, but this one is by far my favorite. I bought the original MEV on Amazon, but the print was smaller than I wanted to constantly deal with. I pre-ordered the Large Print version and anxiously-awaited its arrival months later. Recentl. G. Newman said Great new alternative!. I have used the NKJV since it's first publication, and although it intends to update the KJV, I was never really pleased with it since it varies too much from it's predecessor to "sound" like it. The MEV is an excellent translation, staying truer to the KJV more consistently. I get the same warmth from reading it as the KJV, only it more readily speaks to a modern English speaker.This Bible has an impressive co. First Choice — No Regrets This is a very nice Bible for 21st century readers. It doesn't matter which Bible version you choose, there will always be naysayers. I own nearly every popular version printed, and I find this to be easier to read and reliable when compared to the original languages. Yes, I've spent a good deal of time doing comparisons.
