Having been a fan of Nastygal for years and falling in love with her first book, #Girlboss I was super excited when it was announced that Nasty Galaxy would be more of an editorial coffee table book. And while it does have its moments (the #girlboss interviews are great, although each interview is the same question format so it does get a little dry and the photos of Amoruso's house are gorgeous) I was kind of surprised by the lack of substance. The astrology horoscope pages just felt like filler to make the book longer and the illustrated tips could have been edited down more, I found only half of them to be any kind of hum. It's a mix of everything that inspires Sophia & Nasty Gal: musicians, albums, actresses, models, & girl bosses. I must say I bought this book as soon as it came out because of my love for #GirlBoss. I was obsessed with it & read it religiously. Finished it in a few days. Last night I began to read Nasty Galaxy & got half way through it. There's much less reading material is why, but also because I was trying to see if it was going to get better. It's a coffee table book.
