not easy to believe Suspension of belief is OK, but this book requires a bit too much of it. We could have lived without the swordfish bones and Vito's dog, and perhaps shown a resolution of the trial. Unless I missed something, the reference to a rooftop aerial and a Dumont TV set puts this book back 60 years from its copyright date. If it did happen in the 1950s guns would have been allowed on airplanes. Also, hardly any characters showed any warmth or endeared themselves to me. "Ick." according to A Customer. Terrible. Exciting book! I wish to thank Goodreads First Reads and author Alan Hruska for the good fortune of winning a copy of Pardon The Ravens. This was a terrific and exciting thriller. The story takes place during the sixties and revolves around the mafia and mob related court cases. I thought the writing was top notch, and the character development very good. There was a lot of excitement which built to an exciting and scary climax. Reading this was like watching an old time mob
