I love the character of Creed and his work rescuing dogs and training them! I have been a big fan of Maggie O'Dell and I really appreciate how she has meshed Maggie into the stories about Creed and how they work together! I don't get a chance to miss either character - well except between new books. This book had me gripped and got me thinking and I was definitely rooting for the dogs as well as the people!!! While this book is. and his wonderful dogs; and Maggie too The third book in the Ryder Creed series had me chewing my nails. Alex Kava is a master of suspense. Ryder and his teamand his wonderful dogs; and Maggie too! The possibility of bio-warfare is terrifying and it is obvious Alex did very in-depth research on this book (as she has on all her previous books). The main characters are so real and we learn a little more about them in each successive book. You just know you would love to know them. Fast paced; I had a hard time putting the book down. I kept wanting to skip forward to see. "Thoroughly enjoyable" according to Thomas D. John. Those of us who enjoy our canine friends will quickly realize that the dogs are the real heroes of these stories. This novel, ripped right from the pages of today's research, covers a new strain of bird flu that can also be transmitted to humans. It's a complicated story, with multiple characters, both villains and heroes, but ultimately a satisfying story, full of promise and redemption. If you are a fan of dogs, this is a read that combines suspense and mystery with the courageous and loyalty of our four legged friends.
