"Not quite up to snuff but, still worth it for Shannara fans." according to NachtJaeger. Normally I would give any book written by Terry Brooks set in the Shannara universe 5 stars. I have read all of them. However, The Darkling Child and The High Druid's Blade both seem less polished than all the others. I can't put my finger on exactly what is missing but it just isn't q. Mark said Another great Brooks novel!. Great second book in this set. Terry Brooks has found a way to make you care about characters and what they're going through. Perhaps not one of the most exciting books he's written, it builds on his last book and has left me looking forward to the next one.
