It’s a firm handshake. Music City Salvage is a family operation, owned and operated by Chuck Dutton: master stripper of doomed historic properties, and expert seller of all things old and crusty. Creepy fun Having been a fan of the author's early work, I found this novel to be of the same stylecreepy. Priest builds the suspense slowly and keeps the reader wanting to turn the pages as quickly as they can. Other reviewers have outlined the plot, so I will not duplicate that here. This is a fast paced story which only gets a little bogged down towards the end. I was ready to lower my rating by one star, then the twist at the end pu. Jett said Who says there's no such thing as a ghost. Modern day haunt with the backdrop of family secrets. If you loved Princess X, but want something a bit more adult, Family Plot is just the ticket. With well defined characters and a plot twist or two, you'll be wanting a longer visit with the good folks at Music City Salvage. I hope that we get to bump into these folks again and find out what other secrets linger in dusty shuttered buildings.. Just OK I'm a big Cherie Priest fan; Dreadful Skin is one of my most favorite books, and I loved Four and Twenty Blackbirds & Wings to the Kingdom. So I had pretty high expectations for this book, and was a little disappointed. Great setting, amazing, creepy house, but I just didn't find the story that spooky.
