Edgar Award–winning author Mindy McGinnis delivers a dark and riveting contemporary YA novel that blends the unflinching honesty of Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak with the relentless pacing and alternating perspectives of Gone Girl. A stunning, unforgettable page-turner.Alex Craft knows how to kill someone. Not anyone. As their senior year unfolds, Alex’s darker nature breaks out, setting these three teens on a collision course that will change their lives forever.. While her own crime goes unpunished, Alex knows she can’t be trusted among other people. And she doesn’t feel bad about it.Three years ago, when her older sister, Anna, was murdered and the killer walked free, Alex uncaged the language she knows best—the language of violence. Not with Jack, the star athlete who wants to really know her but still feels guilty over the role he played the night Anna’s body was discovered. And not with Peekay, the preacher’s kid with a defiant streak who befriends Alex while they volunteer at an animal shelter

Alex's sister was brutally raped and murdered by a man in her small town. It was the first murder they had seen in as long as anyone could remember and there was not enough evidence to convict. Alex takes things into. I am pretty picky about the books I read catherine I am pretty picky about the books I read. The topic and the story never matter as much to me as the writing does. A good writer can make a story about anything enjoyable. This particular topic - rape, sexual assault, and rape culture - is one that I find to be extremely important. I picked this book up excited about the story, but hesitant to try a new writer with few reviews. I am so glad I did. This is a good book. I found it to be a quick read, but a moving read. I think it's a perfect young adult book. McGinnis does an excellent job of writing about a difficult topic to discuss with teens. The story is told from 3 different characters who. 5 freaking stars do not miss out This book how to describe how I'm feeling, I think I might need therapy, I was laughing and some times a was shocked, but mostly I loved the characters and the story and at the end I was crying ugly tears with snot and all. Because this story and characters get under your skin and you feel empty when you finish this book.Alex is a killer there’s nothing pretty about it, it makes her freaking bad ass I loved that she is like she is.Jack a man whore until he isn’t,Then we have Peekay who’ s vulnerable and at first she does not what to make of Alex but in the end she loved her as truly as best friend can.Alex is a killer and
