Coming of Age in Houston and Galveston Richard B. Schwartz The Jealous Kind continues the Holland family saga, but in a different way. This is not a sweeping historical novel with multiple real-life figures’ lives interlaced with the experiences of the Holland family. The only such figure here is Bugsy Siegel, who does not figur. A bad book! This is without doubt Burke's poorest book. It lacks focus and the entire story appears rather pointless. The characters, including Aaron (the main protagonist) are very poorly developed and basically also quite implausible. Burke has Aaron, a 17-year old, being a competitive .
