"My ultimate favorite-tist book ever" according to Melissa Warden. I remember this book being read to me in elementary school to this day. It has always been one of my absolute favorites (top 10). As cheesy as some of the stories are, its always fun to reread. I had a paper back copy that my parents got me sometime in my teenage years. When I was older in my twenties with children of my own, I still kept the book in my house. I read it to my toddlers several times even though they had no clue what I was reading (lol). One of my youngins decided one night tha. "For a laugh with random and badly told stories, please get this for your shelf!" according to Amazon Customer. As a kid, this book was hilarious, random, and entertaining. Reading it to my kids and hearing them laugh is pure magic. It is absolutely worth the read. I would start with the real fairy tales so they know what the book is referencing to, but overall, very funny and memorable moments. I will say it's more so for people with crude and random humor. I hope others enjoy as much as we have.. Scieszka doesn't fail to offer laughs and imagination I read this when I was a child and loved it back then. I thought my 6 year old may get a kick out of it and unfortunately most of it went over his head. In these irreverent variations on well-known themes, the ugly duckling grows up to be an ugly duck, and the princess who kisses the frog wins only a mouthful of amphibian slime. The Stinky Cheese Man deconstructs not only the tradition of the fairy tale but also the entire notion of a book. The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales retells--and wreaks havoc on--the allegories we all thought we knew by heart. . There are no lessons to be learned or morals to

The entire book, with its unconventional page arrangement and eclectic, frenetic mix of text and pictures, is a spoof on the art of book design and the art of the fairy tale. The individual tales, such as The Really Ugly Duckling and Little Red Running Shorts, can be extracted for telling aloud, with great success. Another masterpiece from the team that created The True Story of the Three Little Pigs! -Horn Book
