The fourth edition gives readers the skills to apply calculus on the job. The material is also presented in a way to help business professionals decide when to use technology, which empowers them to learn what calculators/computers can and cannot do.. It highlights the applications’ connection with real-world concerns. The problems take advantage of computers and graphing calculators to help them think mathematically.  The applied exercises challenge them to apply the math they have learned in new ways.  This develops their capacity for modeling in a way that the usual exercises patterned after similar solved examples cannot do

The ability to carry all of my text books with me with out added stress on my back is what really sold me on buying the kindle version of my text books. This book however is horrible in the e-book version! All of the graphs in the examples and assignments are pixelated when you zoom in to view them larger this is a problem for my laptop, iPhone and Kindle you'd think. "kindle version should be searchable by page number" according to PrimeCustomer. The textbook itself is fine, my comment is not so much about the content as a missing feature in the Kindle version. It would be helpful if the Kindle version included references to the page numbers in the original book. My professor had the hard copy and references the page numbers for examples and assignments instead of sections, and it is difficult to figure out exactly where he is referring. Please include an option allowing the reader to go to specific pages.
