If you're looking for a textbook that can explain everything, you'll never find one.However, this book does excellent job in explaining many topics in internal medicine especially for the novice. I always read uptodate to get a glimpse of certain topic and this book is equally informative as uptodate.. a must for PBL and throughout the journey of medicine Mai. A this book looks scary at first with its many pages and heavy weight, its definitely not a book to carry around, but its detailed in an organized way, works best for those who like learning with charts and tables, font is a bit small but not that bad. I preferred it over the Kumar one for that.. "Great reference" according to Jordan M.. Very in depth, and a lot of information. Some of the wording is confusing, because it seems to be a European edition. I don't believe the wording will interfere with your reading though.
