This is a fun, fascinating book with a wealth of information in it Deb I’m quite familiar with DK books, primarily for younger people, but this book is a perfect one for those of all ages with an interest in gems of all kinds. Like many of the DK books I’ve had the good fortune to own or read, this one is a stunning work of photographic art capturing gemstones. It is a true visual guide, one that will prompt the user, especially the young one, to learn more about gems and their history. One thing. So much is packed in here you will lose an afternoon to it easily This is not just a photo/picture book, this is an extensive guide on rocks and gems. What I really appreciate about this book is that it is comprehensive enough to tough on geology, how they are made, and a world map of where certain gems and stones are located.
