According to the introduction, this book is supposed to provide "easy and compelling reading for Latin students." There's plenty of easy Latin out there (look at the confected Latin in Ecce Romani, Latin for Americans, or Wheelock's adaptations of classical texts). So I really hoped this book would be "compelling."It's really not. We never learn enough about Peter to really care about him as a character. Hi

Amazon Customer said Latin teachers: take a look.. This short book is a great example of how "Comprehensible Input" can use grammar forms such as indirect statements, subjunctives, and supines without them being an obstacle to student understanding. Students can understand the story without needing to parse every form and word (an advantage to the limited vocabulary) and get a feel for what "reading" as opposed to "translating" can feel like in Latin.
