This short book is a great example of how "Comprehensible Input" can use grammar forms such as indirect statements, subjunctives, and supines without them being an obstacle to student understanding. Students can understand the story without needing to parse every form and word (an advantage to the limited vocabulary) and get a feel for what "reading" as opposed to "translating" can feel like in Latin.
