Probably better for early elementary school kids. This book was a bit above my kids' levels, but as a parent, I think it's great and they'll grow into it. I even learned a couple of facts about other places in the world! I look forward to reading it to them again when they're a bit older and can understand what we're talking about a little more.. but we still love him). whenever he watches tv or hears of this was a gift for our grandson to complement the globe we gave him for christmas. he asks his parents to read through the whole book over and over as a bedtime story (strange kid, but we still love him). whenever he watches tv or hears of a country, he would look it up on the globe and goes thru the book and talk about the . "Very nice in general, but the detail resolution doesn't always fit kids" according to Rory M.. Great book for little ones starting to learn about the world, but has way too much clutter that can divert their attention (do you really expect little kids to relate to the square footage of continents?)
