Great gift for new parents, and a good laugh for old parents I don't even have a kid, and don't plan to, but always been an Ugly Volvo fan, so purchased this book. This sarcastic outlook is exactly what I have when it comes to parenting (and everything). So many books on how to do things right, and this one recognizes that things are going to happen, right or wrong, no m. Christine said "first time the baby sleeps a little longer than she normally sleeps and you infection freak out" I'm less than half way through. It's past 7am and my five month old is still asleep, which NEVER happens. After going into his room to ensure he is still in fact breathing, I crawled back into bed myself. Realizing that I'm not going to get back to sleep, I picked up Welcome to the Club and what chapter did i just happen to open up to. "first. I've been a fan of Ms. D'Apice and her blog, The Ugly Volvo, since reading her 9-month old's letter to Santa, and this book is a welcome addition to our home library.
