Thwing Owl Moon is a cherished book in our family. The story of a little child who is finally old enough to go "owling" with her pa on a cold, clear, moonlit night. As I read in very hushed tones, my young daughter would listen for her turn to call for the owls, "hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo." Each reading was like the first time as we wondered, "Will she hear an owl tonight?" The illustrations are beautiful and make you feel like you are, indeed, walking through the quiet woods at night.
