Good reference but certainly limited As the title implies, this is a "guide," so don't expect an exhaustive work on the operating room. In my opinion, a "drawback" of this book is that some of the information provided may not apply to or it may actually be completely different from what the nurse experiences in one hospital versus another. This can be frustrating for the nurse orientating to the operating room. The hospital or clinic where you work may do things somewhat differently, so don't get caught off guard and say, "Well, the book says we should do it this way!"
