Heather makes no excuses for law enforcement officers but properly points out that there are no facts which support the notion that police officers are racist or that use of deadly or non-deadly force is used dis-proportionally against black males. The content of this book is extremely important and well presented, with one giant exception, which accounts for the two-star rating. I was greatly disappointed (to put it mildly) to see that there no references in the text, nor in footnotes, nor in a bibliography, identifying or providing links to the sources of the considerable amount of crime statistics she cites. This issue is far too important to leave it to Heather McDonald says, or City Journal says; many on the fence will pay no attention to anything but government st. Very informative.
