How the plot is revealed to the reader is perhaps the most frustrating and insulting tease I've ever encountered in fiction. There are scads of super short chapters swinging from "the day of the barbecue" to the depressed present, with . Skip this one I didn't like any of the characters or the book at all until the very last part after the big reveal of what actually happened at the BBQ. Only then did the characters become more than caricatures. I'm a fan of Liane Moriarty but this book should have been a short story maybe. I was happy to be done with it. Skip this one!
