not useful for practice This is a nice book if you have to write a term paper on NGS. It is a series of reviews, of key topics of NGS. These are useful to give a general introduction and to refer the reader to key papers and web-sites. If on the other hand you are a practicing biologists or a computer programmer tasked with implementing an analysis pipeline and getting results, this book is disappointing. It does not contain any methods and the theoretical understanding is under developed.
