The pictures are very cute with lots of patterns that he likes to touch (it's not a textured book but the colors are so interesting he likes to feel them!). The book also includes some very real experiences (like having big brother help change the baby's diaper by getting a clean diaper for mom and dad) and we use the rhyme in the book to help remind him of that, which gets him involved. We purchased it for our 2 year old to help him prepare for the arrival of our second son about a month before he was born, and my 2yr old could not get enough of it (I couldn't either!). We read it at least 2x a day before baby brother arrived, and I think it made my son's transition to big brotherhood so much easier. Now my son can recite the entire book by heart, and at different times throughout the day he'll quote it as he's helping with his little brother.
