Typos on first page. Oh boy This book seems to be written in the form of a research paper, not a college textbook. It's quite wordy, but really doesn't impart a lot of useful information. It is rather short, as well. I knew I was in for frustration when on the first page HIPAA is stated to be the "Health Information Privacy and Accountability Act", which is incorrect. Every mention of HIPAA makes this same mistake, including the index. It should instead be "Health Information Portability and Accountability Act". How can I take an entire book focused on HIPAA seriously when the author doesn't . Serves well as a solid refernce for and in relevant research. I was introduced to this book as a textbook integrated into the curriculum of the first grad program courses. In terms of its content (and in my humble opinion), the author did an amazing job on many accounts. Considering the core topic, this is a very interesting read. The book is replete with helpful information concerning many trends and issues in healthcare. In addition to incorporating a ton of research, the author made a point to warn about limitations to referenced studies, gaps in research, etc. In doing so, the author gave plenty of suggestions and directi.
