"A bit young and too goofy for my almost-A bit young and too goofy for my almost-4-year-old JB I thought this book would be good for my almost-4-year-old who will be starting preschool in the fall. I was disappointed by the too simple, too short, and very silly storyline that is so silly it almost doesn't make sense in places; the part about stacking pennies on her teeth I get it the point, but it was just goofy to my little one, and not in an amusing way. Was just a bit senseless, even to my child who thinks nearly everything is funny.. -year-old" according to JB. Her grandmother (who we don't see until the very end of the story) gives her great advice to be who she is. Molly Lou Melon follows her grandmother's advice, even when she has to move away from her grandmother to a new house and school. A boy tries hard to bully Molly Lou Melon, but she just keeps being who she is, and she inadvertently thwarts the bully's attempts to bully her. She eventually wins . "Wonderful Book! Five Stars!" according to BLKS. This is a wonderful book for children and even adults who worry about what other people will think of them. It encourages us to do it anyway. I am a psychotherapist and I will definitely use this book as a therapy tool. The illustrations are fun and exciting. Children love it. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I recommend this book to everyone!!!

But Molly Lou's self-assurance is put to the test when she moves to a new town, away from her friends and beloved grandmother. Any child who is less than perfect will cheer with joy to meet Molly Lou Melon, a girl who doesn't let anything--or anyone--shake her belief in herself. First-time author Patty Lovell's message is clear and simple, and the theme is familiar enough to strike chords with every reader, young and old. (Ages 5 to 8) --Emilie Coulter. David Catrow, illustrator of Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs, Rotten Teeth, and other popular picture books, depicts a very weird-looking, very appealing little girl with warmth and cartoonish humor. "Sing out clear and strong and the world will cry tears of joy," Grandma says. Her grandmother has utmost confidence in her, and tells her at every turn to believe in herself. Molly Lou Melon may be tiny, clumsy, buck-toothed, and wit
