Original illustrations, some tough words for a baby or child I ordered this book to read to my baby and allow her to hear the sounds of the Vietnamese language. This book lets us do just that. I love the original and occasionally funny illustrations. My favorite is "V" for vats of fish sauce-- there's a photo of children covering their nose by the smell of fish sauce.The only disappointment with this book is a spelling error. Fish sauce is spelled "nuoc mam," not "nuoc man." The book also uses words that are not necessarily simple for a child to understand but this could be viewed as a positive poin. "Whimsical fun for all ages. A delightful read!" according to Saigon Anna. I love this book! We bought VIetnam A-Z as a present for my three year old niece to get her acquainted with her Vietnamese heritage. Needless to say, it was a HUGE hit with her and her other mutli-cultural friends. The illustrations are fantastic and quite funny too. Highly recommended!
