Although seemingly targeted at those new or recently introduced to the discipline, or those "crossing over" from other areas within the broader informatics arena, content is very well-suited for all comers, with sufficient detail to satisfy even those famil. Kit said Good foundation for PHI graduate certificate course. I use this book for a public health informatics course I teach and it serves the purpose very well. The students are mostly public health looking for informatics knowledge. Used with more recent material from the web, it provides a good foundation in the field. It is getting a bit long in the tooth tho - 10 years old now. It would be really nice if an updated edition were to be published.
